Handicap Tournament 2007
Ladies Singles - Eloise Burrell (-15) beat Karin Crabbe (–30): 6-2, 6-1.
Eloise one of the clubs young up and coming stars beat Karin who had had a gruelling afternoon already appearing in the ladies final.
Mens Singles – Michael Ainsworth (-15) beat Giles Woodhouse (-30): 6-2, 7-5. First time finalist Michael, beat last years winner Giles in a very competitive tactical battle which lasted well over 2 hours.
Ladies Doubles - Freya Pearce & Aline Picket (+15) beat Karin Crabbe & Nicky Ponsford (–40): 6-3, 6-3. Despite a great effort, the 4 points per game handicap proved too much of a struggle even for the
highly talented pairing of Nicky and Karin.
Mens Doubles - Nick Roberts and Giles Woodhouse (0) beat Tim Offen and Derek Avery (–15): 6-2, 6-2. To make up for the earlier singles defeat Giles and his partner claimed victory in a match where the final score never really
told the true story of what happened.
Mixed Doubles – Dominic Moret and Simone Murrough (–30) beat Wendy Shepherd and Mattys Janssens (0): 6-3, 7-5. Wendy and Mattys put up a good fight in the second set but Dom and Simone were just too strong in the end.
