Open Tournament 2007
Ladies Singles – Heather Taylor beat Nicky Ponsford 6-0, 6-2. Heather has been and still remains the unbeaten champion for several years now.
Mens Singles – Joe Reddick beat Tim Offen 6-1, 6-2. A new face in the final this year in Tim, Joe has been a finalist for the last several years, Joe however proved too strong for Tim.
Ladies Doubles – Nicky Ponsford and Heather Taylor beat Wendy Shepherd and Clarissa Baly 6-3, 6-1. A reversal of the 2006 final in which the over 40’s pair beat the youngsters,
this time the young guns triumphed fairly easily although Clarissa was inhibited by a shoulder injury during the match.
Mens Doubles – Joe Reddick and Tim Offen beat the Nadeem brothers 6-2, 6-2. This was also a reversal of the 2006 final which the Nadeem brothers won,
these opponents always have a tough match but not so this year due to injury in the Nadeem pairing.
Mixed Doubles – Joe Reddick and Katherine Cook beat Giles Woodhouse and Heather Taylor 6-2, 6-0. It was hoped that the strong pairing of Giles and Heather would give the
reigning champions a run for their money this year but it was not to be, making it a clean sweep for Joe who had a very good day at the office!!
